On March 9, 2011, my dad was diagnosed with renal failure. His kidneys were functioning at less than 5%. My dad is a dialysis patient, but he doesn't let this disease define him. He's always been my hero, and seeing him fight this battle, has made me appreciate him even more. Today, I'm choosing to give back to the kidney community to celebrate my dad and his battle. My dad isn't the only kidney sufferer though. There's more out there.

Did you know chronic kidney disease affects 31 million Americans and their families?  You can join me and the American Kidney Fund in the fight against kidney disease by making a donation today.

Your donation helps the American Kidney Fund give hope to patients and empower others at risk to prevent kidney disease.  Last year, with the support of many others like you, the American Kidney Fund provided financial support to more than 20% of dialysis patients in the United States.  This support ensures that patients can maintain access to lifesaving health care and afford treatment related costs.

Additionally, we work together to fight kidney disease through educational programming and free kidney disease screenings across the country.  All of this work and support is accomplished while spending 97 cents of every dollar raised on patients and programs.

Your donation will make a direct impact in the lives of kidney patients.  Thank you for joining me in this fight!
